Finisher/Task Lead

Commercial Division

Columbus, Ohio

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
The Finisher/Task Lead will possess competency in the following areas in order to perform his/her role in a safe, high quality and productive manner. Note that the areas listed are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by co-workers assigned to this role. ROLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direction of the Finisher/Crew Lead carries out assignments related to concrete placement, finishing, curing and cutting based on proper selection of equipment, materials and finishing sequence needed to deliver an acceptable end product.

BASELINE QUALIFICATIONS:

The Finisher/Task Lead will possess the knowledge, skill, and/or ability in the following areas essential to perform the functions of the position.

 

Education and/or Experience

  • At least 2-year’s experience in finishing concrete

Language / Communication Skills

  • Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, 

  • Understand the abbreviated and common construction terms for equipment and materials used 

  • Good Listening Skills.

  • Effective communication with team, clients, and subcontractors

  • Have an idea or solution to a problem if it arises

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to read and use a tape measure and apply associated math skills

Interpersonal Skills

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Be a mentor to fellow employees

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to read and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals

  • Ability to deal with problems involving specific variables in standardized situations

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

Physical Demands

  • Ability to kneel, crouch, balance, climb, or crawl

  • Ability to exert physical effort, handling average weight of objects up to 50 pounds. 

  • Able to work 5 to 6 days a week

  • Expect early start times and long days (Times will vary from job to job)

  • Work in strenuous conditions with minimal breaks

  • Be on time daily

Work Environment

  • Work involves exposure to outside weather conditions and dirt, dust, fumes, and/or loud noise levels.
